  • Tonight.

Tonight was the first time that I had the opportunity to lead worship in a college environment. This in itself made the start of tonight totally exciting and nerve wracking. I started by practicing with the band, making suggestions, and getting to know everyones strengths as musicians. Once practice was over, the lady (Amy) who kinda runs Intervarsity came up to me and just praised me for how beautiful my voice is. This praise took me by surprise because I don’t really hear that with such enthusiasm anymore. Not only was I getting compliments on my voice, but also my hair. Tonight was definitely a self-esteem booster in that regards.

After the first set of worship, Amy got up to share some amazing stuff with us. She started by taking about how she was asking God what her New Year’s resolution should be, which eventually turned into setting dreams for our individual life. She then gave us a notecard and time to think about what our dreams were, things that we thought were impossible for God to do. She had one rule though. We had to write the dream down like it had already happened, to give us encouragement that it WAS and IS possible for God to do absolutely anything in our lives, even what we may think of as impossible.

Once our time to reflect was finished, she asked us to share with the people around us. This required everyone to push away their pride and embarrassment and share/testify to the people around them. After we shared in small groups, she asked for people to randomly shout out what they wrote down. Things like this were said:

“The Drake football team has accepted Christ Jesus as their savior!”

“My grandma is no longer in pain, she is happy and living her life to its fullest”

“I have found a marriage of love and honor my wife everyday, and preach the word of God because of the love for my family”

These things have not actually happened in these peoples lives, but they shouted them like it was the most joyous thing to say in their entire life. This whole moment gave me the chills, and made me tear up. God is So good. and He can do anything He desires.

Tonight was so refreshing. I cannot express that enough. I feel so good.

    Praise the LORD
